Walking the gentle path with you
and those you love.

We offer guidance and support for your parents and grandparents whether you are planning ahead or facing an immediate need.

End-of-Life Support centered on the individual and their family

Gentle Path supports families as they navigate through each stage of life’s journey, offering attentive, non-medical care from active aging, illness diagnosis, through the transition to end-of-life.

Our role is to offer a steady presence, emotional support, and practical guidance—working alongside medical providers while honoring each person’s values, wishes, and pace.

How We Support Individuals and Families

When distance, practicality, and feasibility prevent you from providing the loving care and support as often as you want to give to your elderly parents or grandparents……..
WE CAN HELP.

We can provide non-medical support to your loved ones living in the Portland, OR region, with frequent in-home or in-facility visits, check-ins that can include:

  • Walks, talks, conversations, or companionship visits to break up their day/week.

  • We run errands, do projects together, read stories, and listen to music.

  • We can help coordinate schedules for doctors, parks, and community activities

  • Our regularly scheduled visits are a calm, friendly, and steady presence at the frequency you specify.

  • We keep you up-to-date and involved via emails, texts, or calls so you can follow up where we leave off.

  • As their needs increase and if/when conditions worsen, we provide calm emotional support, steady presence, and continuity during difficult times.

  • As certified end-of-life Doulas, we guide you through the confusing maze of end-of-life support resources available, provide information on what to expect, and what precautions to take as situations arise, or as conditions/illness progress.

Commonly Asked Question

What does an end-of-life doula do?
An end-of-life doula provides non-medical emotional, practical, and informational support to individuals and families before, during, and after the dying process. Support is guided by the needs and wishes of those involved.

Is this hospice or medical care?
No. End-of-life doulas do not provide medical care or replace hospice or clinical services. Support is offered alongside medical teams.

Do we need to be near the end of life to reach out?
No. Many people seek support earlier—for planning, emotional support, or simply to talk through concerns and wishes before a crisis arises.

Is this religious or spiritual?
Support is non-denominational and non-directive. Any spiritual, cultural, or personal beliefs are respected and guided by the individual and family.

What if we’re not sure what we need yet?
That’s completely okay. Many people reach out simply to ask questions or explore options. There is no obligation to move forward.

If you have questions or would like to talk through what support might look like, we’re here.
